ABOUT GIANLUCA GISONE
Filmmaker. Cinematographer. Storyteller.
Cinema has always been Gianluca's refuge, a space where chaos evolves into clarity, and stories offer healing. Rooted in his Latino heritage and shaped by his family’s experience with immigration and sacrifice, his films draw from lived moments of struggle, empathy, and resilience. He embraces filmmaking as a tool to honor his family's pursuit of the American Dream while amplifying voices too often left unheard.
His short films exemplify this purpose. Stall Buddies, which won the Funniest Film Award at the 2023 Greenfield Youth Film Festival, emphasized humor and friendship, while Sincerely Joel (2024) and CURE (2025) delved further into themes of healing and human connection. Gianluca, who is currently studying at the Savannah College of Art and Design, hopes to broaden his vision by making films that are both intensely personal and culturally resonant, highlighting new voices while inspiring audiences to look beyond their own horizons.
